The Almadel
'Ars Almadel Salomonis', is the fourth book of
the "Lemegeton", commonly referred to as "The Lesser Key of Solomon". It can
be one tablet or four made of wax, one for each of the four chief angels
governing the four altitudes. The tablet is used for invocations of the angels
of the four altitudes, choras "360 degrees of the zodiac" or (cardinal
directions).
There is to be 4 candles made from the same white wax used in making the
tablet. A gold or silver seal is also created with the names "HELION, HELLUJON,
ADONAI" engraved upon it. In one book, a small crystal stone is mentioned for
use in the invocation, the author hypothesized that it may be placed upon the
gold or silver seal.
"The candles are provided with waxen feet and the Almadel rests there on,
being a 4-square figure measuring 6 inches in everyway" Really !? Well I
suppose you make the little feet when creating the candles, the idea is the
Almadel itself should not touch the ground or table. The color should be "Lily
White" for the East, the other directions are Red "perfect rose color", green
mixed with silver and an "almost black green"
The Angels of the first altitude are Alimiel, Gabriel, Borachiel, Lebes &
Hellison. "They make all things fruitful in creation"
The Angels of the second altitude are Alphariza,
Genon, Geron, Armon & Gereinon. "They have power over goods and riches and can
make any man rich or poor, They also cause decrease and barrenness"
The Angels of the third altitude are Eliphamasai, Gelomiros, Gedobonai,
Saranana & Elomnia. The Angels of the fourth altitude are Barachiel, Gediel,
Gebiel, Deliel & Captiel.

First Pentacle of the Sun
This is also known as the 'Face of Shaddai'
even though the "Clavicula Salomonis" a.k.a. "Greater Key of Solomon"
translated by S. Liddell MacGregor Mathers states that it's the great
Angel Metatron, the representative of Shaddai. The Latin written around
the face is translated into "Behold His face and form by Whom all things
were made, and Whom all creatures obey" I see why people consider the
face to be that of Shaddai and not Metatron, but can one 'see' Shaddai?

The Fourth Pentacle of Venus
The writing around the pentacle is in French and
from Genesis ii. 23,24 'This is bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh. And
they two were one flesh.' The pentacle in "Clavicula Salomonis"
a.k.a. "The Key of Solomon the King" by S.Liddell MacGregor Mathers has the
verse in Hebrew.

With
Planetary talismans, you must draw the magick square of
numbers or Hebrew letters on a piece of cloth. Then, draw a
circle around the magick square, and write the names of the
Spirits governing that specific planet inside the circle,
maybe on the sides of the square. Then turn the piece of
cloth over, and draw another circle, then you must draw,
inside the circle, the seals of the Angel and Demon of the
planet you are wishing to use with your talisman. |
