The Equinox

The Equinox, also called The Review of Scientific Illuminism, has become the standard for English language esotericism, aptly termed the "Encyclopedia of Initiation" by its principal editor and contributor, Aleister Crowley. The remarkable variety, depth, and utility of its contents encompass Qabalah, tarot, yoga, and the essential papers of Crowley's teaching order, A. A. The new edition is supplemented by Crowley's serialized biography along with excerpts from his many diaries, an overview of the Golden Dawn System, a book-length special section of the Qabalistic dictionary Sepher Sephiroth, fiction, poetry, book reviews, and extracts from The Vision and the Voice and The Rites of Eleusis as well as important works by other noted authors such as The Key of the Mysteries by Eliphas Levi.

Equinox Part 2 (415 pages)     Equinox Part 7 (485 pages)
Equinox Part 3 (448 pages)     Equinox Part 8 (446 pages)
Equinox Part 4 (505 pages)     Equinox Part 9 (362 pages)
Equinox Part 5 (357 pages)     Equinox Part 10 (623 pages)

  • The Blue Equinox (446 pages) First published in Detroit in 1919, the legendary Blue Equinox was Crowley's first attempt to publicize the principles and aims of the magical secret society Ordo Templi Orientis (O.T.O.) and its allied order the A.A. In it, Crowley laid out the esoteric, social, ethical, and philosophical ideas that he believed provided the framework for a new ethics and the liberated morality of the future. Upon publication, the book was threatened with suppression by the authorities of the day. Many of the papers in the Blue Equinox anticipated social liberties we tend to take for granted today.

The Magick of Thelema: A Handbook of the Rituals of Aleister Crowley

by Lon Milo Duquette

Aleister Crowley’s ascension into the pantheon of alternative gurus was cemented by his appearance on The Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album cover. Unfortunately, he was known more for his reputation as "The Beast 666" and "The Wickedest Man in the World." All well and good for publicity, but this infamy eclipsed his teachings, as did his technical and opaque writing style, meant more for adepts contemporary to him than the average modern reader. Enter Lon Milo DuQuette to decipher and explain Crowley’s texts and more important rituals. The Magick of Aleister Crowley is a clear introduction to the works of Crowley by a modern master of the occult and one of the wittiest writers in the field. DuQuette takes the mystery out of both the rituals themselves and Crowley’s writing in this modern grimoire. Step by step, he presents a course of study in plain English, with examples of rituals and explanations of their significance. DuQuette also includes a course of study for Crowley’s original works with an extensive bibliography and fastidious footnotes.

New Aeon Magick : Thelema Without Tears

by Gerald Del Campo

Gerald del Campo began his inward travels in 1975 utilizing the various methods prescribed by Dion Fortune, Paul Foster Case, William Gray, Eliphas Levi, Arthur Waite, Helena P. Blavatsky and others. Most of this work was rewarding, yielding profound results. In 1982 he experienced a life changing event which altered his perception of the Universe and his relationship to it: A complete stranger handed him Liber AL vel Legis, The Book of the Law.

After over two decades of traveling this road, Gerald del Campo released the first edition of his field guide to the Thelemic path, New Aeon Magick. Filled with deep insight, practical instruction, and a very down-to-earth style, this volume became an instant success. New Aeon Magick helps decipher many of the puzzles that confront the modern practitioner: What is Qabalah and how do I use it? Where do I get my Magical tools? What is yoga? What makes Thelema different? These and many other questions are addressed in this "magical travel guide."

This is the second revised edition of New Aeon Magick. In it del Campo has expanded and enlarged this unique work by adding more on Qabalah, Gematria, God forms, the Thelemic path, magical ceremonies and much more. Where ever your path leads you to, New Aeon Magick shows the art of magical living and is presented in a realistic, easy to understand and practical fashion. This book is intended for those that want to focus on "Practice" rather than "Theory." It will encourage you to find your own path so that you may open up a road not previously charted.

Discovering your path is a very difficult task. Ranging from what groups to join, to how to obtain proper magical tools. The path is filled with trials and pitfalls. All such paths are said to originate from one source, making the philosophical choices we must make even more difficult. New Aeon Magick helps avoid these obstacles.

New Aeon Magick is a unique book, and the details of a Thelemic magical life are candidly shared by a magician who has been said to "wear his heart on his sleeve." This is not a book you will put away on your shelf to collect dust: it is a manual and a glimpse into the private life of a Thelemic magician.

Perdurabo: The Life of Aleister Crowley

by Richard Kaczynski

Paperback: 560 pages

Publisher: New Falcon Publications (December 24, 2002)

Product Dimensions: 8.9 x 6.1 x 1.4 inches

Aleister Crowley, born in Victorian England to a life of financial privilege and religious bigotry, rebelled against his upbringing in every way possible. He became a mountaineer, a bohemian, a writer of sensuous poetry, and a practitioner of what detractors called "the black arts." In reality, he was an uninhibited explorer of global spiritual traditions combining ritual magic with spiritual ecstasy. His winding path intersected ceremonial magic, Buddhism, Hinduism, Kabbalah, sex, drugs, poetry and music. And what he offered mankind was a manifesto for a new age: "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law." For the first time, the life of one of the most remarkable men of the 20th century is illuminated by a writer who is both an academic researcher and a lifetime practitioner.
