Purpose: to learn more about the narure of relationships and to gain Tharsis' aid in helping me to do the best I can in my end of the relationship to make it strong and to make it grow.

Method: Laid out an physical temple as a representation of the astral one I would construct. Drew the sigil on paper for inside the circle, and drew it with soap onto my magicl mirror.

Preliminary Ritual:

LBRP
BRH
LIRP (all water)
*note* : I established contact with Gabriel during the ritual and asked for permission to use his authority to help compel Tharsis to arrive and fulfill his task. This was the strongest astral circle I've ever made. By the time I got to the LIRP, the circle and pents were flaming, I was fully charged. The archangels placed their weapons in each quadrant of my circle's border and declared that "none shall pass this circle" (I must admit I felt very very safe). I had a head rush, and was shifting from feelings of hot to cold.

Evocation:

Vibrated Tharsis while staring at sigil for a while. When I felt it become active, I proceeded with the evocation ( a brief one using 5 divine names and Gabriel). Did it 2 times. Tharsis arrived in the astral.

Tested Tharsis by name, sign, signature

At this point I felt my circle was tested, not so muh by Tharsis, but by lesser elemental beings--blue wavey things. Circle held fast and gabriel seemed to be annoyed by this.

Asked question. Got a watery all over the place response.

Gave Tharisis the charge and command. He accepted it. We conversed again, this time more clearly.

Liscense to depart.

Banishing Rituals.

Tharsis' appearnace shifted during the conversation. At times he appeared shrounded in yellow. Other times he had wings. At several points he took on an androgynous form. He also shifted into and out of blue wave forms. This was attributed to my weakness in skrying.

Results: well, I guess I'll have to wait and see :)

Yeah the icy hots, those are, in my experience, the body's reaction to a tremendous surge of energy. Like alternating "Oh crap too much energy I have to manage each current seperately!"

Did you get a headache at all?

Hi. Sorry I wasn't more specific. Tharsis is the elemental ruler/angel of water. He/she is described in the golden dawn elemental pathworkings and in Kos' Summoning Spirits. He/she has knowlede of soulmates, relationships/love and how water magick can be used to effect the above.

I didn't get a headache during the ritual, but I've felt sore and rushes of pain all day today. And it really went from hot like sweating to icy cold.

I have started to acquire very definate results 3 days after the completion of the operation. Oddly enough, Tharsis seemed to instruct me to make a sexually charged sigil to improve our communication. Results quickly followed completion of that task.

Dear Fr. NovumOrganum,

I noticed in your post you mentioned that you vibrated Tharsis - what are your thoughts on the Golden dawn's take that vibration should never be used for lesser beings (eg elementals, demons and so on)?

fiat, never heard about that, very interesting. I scanned through the Golden Dawn book by Regardie and I can't find it there, but it does intuitively make a lot of sense.

Sorry for teh lateness of the reply; I just noted there was a comment on this thread.

I found vibrating Tharsis' name to be very effective; it seemed to activate the sigil and with each vibration the image of Tharsis seemed to grow more vivid and present. I wasn't even aware that the GD had such a restriction. Therefore, I didn't have a specific theoretical reason for vibrating except that I had always used vibration in all previous contacts with other beings (almost all arch-angels). I might also add that Tharsis is at the least a ruler (second to the king) of the water elementals, and Kos has Tharsis as an angel.

I would like to add that the results of this ritual have been very positive. Tharsis met his charge beyond my expectations, and has continued to serve me in this capacity. All in all, I would highly recommend contacting this entity for advice on matters of the heart.

This part confuses me in the GD-system. Is he a ruler of the element or ruler over the elementals? What is the difference?

Please tell, if you wish, if he helped you find (and mate with) your soulmate(s) or just info regarding what the concept means?
