Marbas
A couple of people requested I repost this so here it is, I don't
know how I found it.
Well I am still charged up from the ritual, it was very
successful. Marbas appeared without any problems as soon as we
called him. This coincided with the appearance of a sudden drizzle
of rain. He was very helpful in answering all of our questions.
When asked what herbs or incense he preferred....drumroll
please....he answered "cedar". After answering our questions we
thanked him and also asked him what he might like in return. This
was the fun part. He immediately requested that his sigil be
placed in water. His demeanor was hurried, as if he was expecting
us to give him license to depart at any moment. I asked him if the
Mississipi river would be a good place. He was very pleased with
this idea. WHen asked what material and how large the sigil should
be, he stated "Well now that you mention it..." And he started to
relax a little, giving us a description of his ideal tribute. He
wanted it to be nine feet tall, made of gold, and visible to
everyone who passed by! I told him this simply was not feasible
with our income, he would either have to provide the means to do
this or settle for aluminum foil or wood. He was adamant that
aluminum would be much better than wood, so long as it was alot of
aluminum. He also added that gold-like appearance would be almost
as good as real gold. At this point in the conferance a cat
starting going batshit outside against the door of the garage we
were in. "And feed that cat!" came the demon's response to this
sudden ruckus. The cat turned out to be my own familiar who was
indeed very very hungry when he was let back in. At this point we
told him goodbye and thanked him, and, making a rather disparaging
yet humorous comment about the stodgy "License to Depart" ritual,
he left before I ever had a chance to get the second sentence out
of my mouth.
The next day....
I had an unexpected call from a family member with an emergency
this evening so we performed another evocation of Marbas. But
first, we had to fulfill the small favor we had promised in the
previously detailed evocation.
We used a Dremil engraving bit to etch the sigil into a round
closet door catch panel. Away past the pyramid we went, and I
flung it into the Mississipi.
Marbas coalesced in the triangle much quicker this time. We asked
if he was pleased with the disc in the river, he said yes. We
managed to get some babysitting for the kids so I asked him many,
many questions, answered a few of his, all of which was very
interesting, and the answers to a few of which I am allowed to
share.
For one, I asked how many times he gets summoned in one day. He
answered "1,023". At that particular moment, twenty something
evocations of Marbas were active, some in China, Southern Africa,
America, Japan and various other parts of the world. I asked him
what he thought of other magicians who use the Spirit's Chain. He
replied that he did not like them at all, and that they were
"whiny".
I asked what names he was known by in Lakota and Navajo, this he
answered, "Tankanen" and something else. At this point I realized
that I had forgotten to keep a pen and paper handy. He added that
these names were very very old. When asked what name he preferred
best, he replied "Marbas".
When asked about diseases, he said that although he engineers
diseases, and engineers a cure at the same time, he has nothing to
do with how they are implemented. He admitted to having developed
the bubonic plague that devastated Europe, but had no hand in how
it was administered. He was not at liberty to speak of the HIV
cure, but he did mention that it was not ready to be revealed yet.
I asked him why he manifested as a lion. He stated that he admired
cats, "They are good free wild creatures who are sleek and
powerful and live without regret."
When asked what he thought of humans in general, he demonstrated
that he thought they were very wasteful and had much unrealized
potential. We offered to answer any questions he might have. He
only wanted to know what the purpose of hair was. "Why do humans
color their hair?" It took a while to answer this one.
When asked about health issues, he stated that he cannot influense
someone against their will. If it is someone's will to nurture bad
health, he has little say in the outcome. For instance, he can rid
someone of their physical addiction to alcohol, but he cannot rid
them of their psychological need. He also stated that pets can
succumb to illness if their owner is in poor mental condition. He
was very adamant about the connection between mind and body, that
humans can "Choose" to be sick.
Physical pain is not known to demons, he says, the pain they fear
is the pain of restriction, of having their will bound, although
they posess a will, it has limited parameters. He stated that
humans, as creatures of duality, have a free will without
restriction, they can create any reality they wish.
When asked about hell and other planets, he said that the
particular hell restricted to our solar system is one of many
throughout the universe. "Other hells have other demons, in other
star systems" We didn't go much deeper into this.
And for the record, Tengu are NOT demons. we have already
cross-referenced this with several other entities.
We asked him if he could travel and manifest through sigils on a
computer screen. He went into technology a little and stated that
he had no power to travel through a computer screen image of his
sigil, but a printed page had power.
By the time we had given him license to depart, two hours had
passed in what seemed to be a fourth that time.

Yes, please detail what he looked like. And the voice you heard -
from him, or air? Masculine voice, threatening, etc..
Thanks for helping me picture this.
Just a normal male voice coming off of the ethereal plane. As for
appearance, a lion made out of pure fire, though this was a brief
clairvoyant image, I had nothing setup for him to physically
manifest with to full glory, except for a candle and some incense.
The incense wavered in accordance with his speech and actions. I
did ask him to describe himself and apologized that I could not
see him, as he was probably very beautiful. TO this he replied "I
thought you could see me, and in full form I AM very very
beautiful,...most of the time." Well I suppose he meant the very
small manifestation in the incense was the visible form.

Sounds like Marbas has a great sense of humor!
Can you tell us more about how the actual summoning went? Did you
use the Goetic version, or one of your own?
It went really smoothly. We did use the Goetic version to some
extant. We did the original bornless ritual after evoking our god
mentors to babysit us. Then we did the conjuration to call forth
Marbas. We didn't go through with the second conjuration because
he showed up before I had even finished the first. Then we went
through the first address, which makes them obey. Then we welcomed
him and sat down to have the chat. After giving the license to
depart, we asked our god mentors to clear the room of the negative
discharge, which they did.

Quite awesome Lady. Could he possibly have manifested as a lion
sense you like cats so much, also what other names does he go by
(perhaps sumerian name or egyptian).

I hate Goetia and never worked with any demons aside Paimon,
reading this makes me laugh, I understand from story's he is quite
a smartass. It is interesting... Tankanen, I will have to
investigate this. Thanks.

That's pretty cool. But how could there possibly be 1,023
evocations per day?? There aren't that many magicians in this
world, are there?

THere are a lot more magicians than you would think, DevioZ. And a
LOT of people who don't even consider themselves magicians that
work with entities anyway.

I'm interested to know if just one person heard the voice, or more
than one, and if they all heard the same words?
Did more than one person get the impression of the flaming lion?
LadyHydralisk 07-01-2004 08:38 AM

The only two visions that were consistant was that of a lion, and
the face of a man, interchangeably. He also communicated with
pictures alot of the time, and the focus (channeler) said he
displayed text alongside images like a website or flyer sometimes.

It would be nice if I had time to do all of the summonings I

invocations (and if it wasn't your name that i have seened all the
time then i stand corrected) but out of all or any of the
evocations that you've worked i have to ask have you and the other
people who participate take ceremonial baths before doing your
work?

Yes there are. You forget that the Asian world has MANY Ceremonial
Magickians. It is different than the western tradition but that
does not make it less potent.
There are far more Ceremonial Magickians than many think.

Actual journal record
Here is the actual record I have of it in my journal which I
filled in after the evocation, I forgot to bring it in circle with
me, it's a little fresher than what I wrote here. I thought I had
not written it down outside of occult forums but that was only
because I had put it in my Dinotopia journal and not the Journal
with the spooky raven sorceress on it I got from my venerable
mother which I usually use. Something told me to look in there and
I found it, so here it is. The text in parentheses is what I
added. In italics is all of the journal text.
"Tonite we evoked Marbas. He was not visible to our eyes. I asked
if he could help with our problem (social engineering). He said
"That is not my station, you should try Orobas, (at first it was
unclear, and sounded like Orgos, but we sorted it out) he is the
one to grant prelacies" Then I asked him if he could fix a health
problem. He said yes, I felt a sensation like he was pressing my
head together, like the download feeling I got from the first imp.
It remains to be seen what this will do. (health problem fixed a
few weeks later)
The channeler discerned after asking what he wished in return,
that he wanted his sigil "Placed in water for everyone to see" So
I said how about the Mississipi? He said "Yes, that would be
nice." we haggled for a bit more. Well, haggled is such an ugly
word. We entertained his ideas. We settled on a sigil made of
metal preferably gold (he also assured us gold colored would be
fine, and not actual gold) Ideally, it would be nine feet tall so
everyone could see it. lol! We'll make one as soon as it is
convenient.
February 25th, 2004 (aka the next day)
We practiced affirmations for a short time. a fun exercise. I am
preparing for the next evocation and will be using Samigal as
reccomended by the Thoth deck. Samigal locates the souls of the
dead and teaches liberal sciences. No replies to my request on OF
for info. I am sure someone will post there. I am not sure how
much more elaborate I want the ritual should be. If I want to
evoke to physical manifestion, I will need some (fu fu fu)
(afternoon)
I cant forget to drop off the sigil of Marbas in the Mississipi.
Hopefully get that done tonight.
(late night)
Summoned Marbas again tonight, Success! I also dropped his sigil
into the river as asked, so much to write of. More tomorrow, tired
and need a shower.
February 26th
We performed the task as requested. We were all very cabalistic,
sneaking about to make demonic offerings. lol We got babysitting
:P
When called upone, Marbas appeared very quickly. We asked if he
was pleased with his sigil. He replied "Yes" We then proceeded
with the questions. I needed healing help for the wolf pup, she
(caretaker) had phoned earlier feeling down and hung up before I
could answer her about her problem. I could not phone her back
because I don't have a number by which to reach her.
Marbas, when asked how many evocations were being performed at
that moment, answered "20" He said he was evoked up to 1,000 times
a day under various names.
China, South Africa, Japan, and America were all locations given.
We asked what his name in Navajo and Lakota was. He replied
Tanskanen or Tankanen which was unclear, and something else. I
forgot to keep a log.
When asked what name he prefered, he replied, "Marbas". He seemed
to express some regret that the (ancient) native americans were
not here. (we went into this indepth but I didn't write it down)
He referred to them as so "Native Americans? You mean the first
peoples." He expressed that he thought they were easier to care
for. He said their annhilation was out of his hands. We asked
about the diseases of the world, was the Goetia correct in it's
assessment of him? He replied "Yes" additionally he had engineered
the Bubonic Plague and HIV, he did not apply them.
We asked why he manigested as a lion. He stated "They (cats) are
free, wild, good creatures who are powerful and live without
regret."
We asked if he had any questions for us./ He asked why humans
color their hair. We answered "For vanity" He said "Vanity is
dangerous."
We went into topics about dating and the attractiveness of hair.
This led to the topic of sex. (at the mention of this) The
atmosphere in the room suddenly changed, and Marbas suddently
tried to coerce us into performing "In his name", stating "I like
that". He backed off without an argument after learning we wern't
interested. Why? we asked. "Power" was the response.
When asked about health issues he said he would do all he could
but that humans can choose to be sick, and he can't stop us. We
have a free will and strong minds. "I do not change mental
states." he added.
He replied, when asked about what demons feared, demons don't feel
physical pain, they fear the pain of restriction, of impeded will.
He also stated that humans, as creatures of duality, have a free
will without restriction, and can create any reality we wish.
He stated that sigils of light have little power compared to a
printed page.
"There are other hells in other star systems, our hell is
restricted to Sol.:
When asked about (cut out at the request of Marbas)
When asked what became of eaten souls, he said "If the soul is
new, or fresh enough" it may escape, if it is to far gone it was
lost forever.
He would not foretell destiny, as it "was not his function"
He spoke on Solomon the King and said that he had indeed been a
man.
He affirmed that hell had many levels, plates stacked on upon the
other. He said that each level feeds on your emotions and spits
out the opposite feedback. To move from one plane to another
required certain "prelacies" as he put it.
On time, he said, "Time is like a puzzle, you rearrange the pieces
to get where you would like to go."
He was very eager to help with healing, he had a laid back
personality.
To recap:
Element: Water
Herb/Incense: Cedar
Abilities: Healing, causing disease, teaching, sexual posession
(sigil drawn in journal)
More in other topics as I find them. I just recently started
recording evocations in journals so I only have the few I put on
this site, actually.

At one time? No. They're typically versitile enough to carry on
quite a few conversations at one time. By ability and minions.
Otherwise, the Archangels would be darn near unreachable. ;)
Considering how they're probably called upon at least a dozen
times /minute.
That'd be funny as hell...
"We're sorry, the archangel [MICHAEL] is unavailable. Please leave
your prayer, offering, request, or curse after the tone, including
the name of the entity who's ass you want kicked. If you feel you

he demonstrated that he thought they were very wasteful and had
much unrealized potential.
I agree with this. We have so much more unknown abilities.
Aodh 07-02-2004 04:53 AM
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unrealized potential and unknown abilities are wholly different
subjects. Potential is what we are able to accomplish. An ability
is a specific thing one CAN accomplish. Unrealized potential means
we don't realize how powerful we really are. Not knowing a few
abilities means not knowing we could (for example) walk. Walking
doesn't make us more powerful, it's a demonstration of our power
as are all abilities. Or at least that's my take on it.
Thalassa 07-02-2004 08:21 AM
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ability, power, things that one can do... All quite similiar to
me. Anyway it could be potential for having unknown abilities,
powers, things that one can attain. That's how I see it.

LadyHydralisk, I just wanted to thank you for sharing your
experience with Marbas with all of us. As always, you are very
informative, and honest.
As for the rest of you, evocation, believe it or not, is not hard.
I hope that I am not being offtopic by recomending that you try
it. I understand many will be thinking: " I am not ready." IF you
think like that, then you'll never succeed. Try it. You'll get
results. Might not be how televison and movies leads you to think
that it will work, in fact, it WON'T. But try it.
Lady Hydralisk, I like that you asked it its other names. I have
put before that during an evocation of Zulumar (who is admittedly
a Nec entity) he said that he was also called "Brahmaputra." I
admit that I have next to no knowledge of Hinduism, but after
searching I have found nothing on that name. But just because a
name given is obscure, or not longer remembered does not take away
from its validity. It could be a forgotten name from any given
cult. It could be Gematric code. Or it could simply a nickname. I
applaud your asking of this and your posting of the results, Lady
Hydralisk. You have a lot of courage to come forward with your
experience, especially the parts left to investigation. That shows
a lot about you, Lady, and I for one would like to say that I
respect you very much for posting about such a private experience
in such detail.

interesting.
i think ur the first one i encounter to recommend to try it
without much warning.
it is true that you'll never succeed if you don't try. but how
about a difference between a dabbler and a prepared/experienced
magician:?:
i'm only doing lbrp several times a week for 3 months, and i'm not
even confident that they're effective. so, i'm not going to jump
the gun unless i'm sure i'm protected. also, it is mentioed that
you must have some scrying skills right... the basic means of
astral communication.
