What Is Death: A Scientist Looks at the Cycle of Life by T.Volk

Answering the question "What is death?" by focusing on the individual is blinkered. It restricts attention to a narrow zone around the individual body of a creature. Instead, how expansive is the answer we receive when we look at the context of death within the biosphere. Death now is tied to all of life, via the atmosphere and ocean. Death supports the awesome biological enterprise of making abundant the green and squiggly life. Talk about death has headed us straight into a contemplation of life, not only individual life, but big life, life on a global scale. Death and life are neatly dovetailed by the supreme cabinetmaker of evolution. Again, the crucial feature is not the death of any one creature per se, but rather what is done with death. To reach into the meaning of death, we must reach out into the wider context of which death is a part
Astral Worship by J.H. Hill

Applying the anniversaries inculcated in the worship of God Sol to his imaginary incarnations, the founders of the ancient Astrolatry made them refer to the several stages of human existence from infancy to mature age. Hence, comparing the first day of infantile life to the shortest day of the year, it would naturally be expected that they would have placed the anniversary of the Nativity exactly at the Winter solstice; but, having conceived the idea that the sun stood still for the space of three days at each of the cardinal points, and making it represent the figurative death of the genius of that luminary, they fixed the date for its observance three days later, or on the 25th of December. Contents: Geocentric System of Nature; Sacred Numbers, 7 and 12; Twelve Thousand year Cycle; Ancient Triad; God Sol; Ancient Cosmogony; Fall and Redemption of Man; Incarnations of God Sol; Fable of the Twelve Labors; Solar Worship; Zodiacal Symbols of Solar Worship; Signs of the Cross; Future Rewards and Punishments; Ancient Christianity; The Prophecies; Roman or Modern Christianity; Freemasonry and Druidism; The Sabbath; Pious Frauds, Personifications of the Divisions of Time

Knowledge of the Higher Worlds and it's Attainment by Rudolf Steiner

Even if one is not interested in knowing about and experiencing higher worlds, this book is a great guide to living, full of wisdom and insight. A true spiritual path is also a path toward becoming a mature human being, which may not be terribly exciting to people seeking spiritual fireworks or wanting to promote egoistic aims. This path is one of selflessness and the strengthening of attention; both needed in an self-centered world suffering from an ever increasing attention deficit disorder. Steiner only speaks of what he has experienced personally. He is not a guru and expects no one to take his word for the truth of what he says. He encourages one to be open minded, try the exercises with patience and consistency(harder than one might think)and verify the truth for one's self.

'The Spirits Book' (1857), written by Allan Kardec, is widely regarded as the most important piece of writing in the 'Spiritist' canon. It is the first in a series of five books that Kardec wrote that are collectively known as the 'Spiritist Codification'. Although the other four books; 'The Medium's Book', 'The Gospel According to Spiritism', 'Heaven and Hell' and 'The Genesis According to Spiritism' are of great importance to the Spiritist movement it is 'The Spirits Book' that lays out the doctrine of the belief system. The Spiritist movement was founded by Allen Kardec and although its roots lay in Spiritualism there are differences in belief. The most important of these differences is the Spiritist belief in reincarnation. Although some Spiritualists believe in reincarnation and some do not, all Spiritists consider it as a basic truth of their ideology. In the 1850's, whilst investigating the afterlife, Kardec communicated in séances with a collection of spirits named 'The Spirit of Truth' who discussed many important topics such as life after death, good and evil, the universe and the origin of spirits, amongst others. 'The Spirit of Truth' counted many of history's great thinkers amongst its number such as Thomas of Aquino, Voltaire and Augustine of Hippo. Over time and after several sessions with the group Kardec had gathered enough information to convince him of life after death and he was compelled to spread the teachings of 'The Spirit of Truth'. He 'codified' their comments and listed them as answers to questions and this is the content of 'The Spirits Book'. The subjects that Kardec discusses, via 'The Spirit of Truth', laid down the foundations for the Spiritist philosophy and all of the concepts that would become, and still are, key to the movement's thinking have their genesis in the book. The belief that there is one Supreme Being, God, who created everything in the universe, is postulated. According to the text the Devil does not exist and Jesus is a messenger of God. Although the book does not refer to Jesus as the son of God and no mention is made of the 'immaculate conception' he is considered God's perfect messenger and his teachings are to be adhered to. Reincarnation and the survival of the soul after death are vital beliefs and it is stated that it is through reincarnation that lessons are learnt that can be taken into the next life and that every life moves the soul closer to perfection. According to the book man is made up of three separate elements; the body, the spirit and the spiritual body. One's spirit also predates the matter of the universe and will outlast it. After the publication of 'The Spirits Book' Kardec's Spiritist doctrine began to take root, firstly in France from where it spread throughout Europe and found its way to North America. Most significant, however, was the reaction to Spiritism in South America. In Brazil the Spiritist movement swept across the nation and it is still one of the country's main religions to this day with millions of Kardec's followers from Brazil visiting his tombstone in Paris every year.

Where will you go when you die?
What if someone offered you a safe, reliable method for exploring for the truth about the afterlife on your own? Would you grab the opportunity to find out for yourself? The Afterlife Knowledge Guidebook is just such an opportunity.
Bruce Moen is a seasoned afterlife explorer. He insists that despite our beliefs to the contrary, discovering the truth about our afterlife through communication with the deceased is really quite easy.
Trained as an engineer, Moen has created a systematic yet simple set of concepts, techniques, and exercises that people around the world have successfully used to gather their own firsthand evidence about the afterlife through contact and communication with the deceased.
Moen's system follows this basic premise:
If you can find a way to communicate with a person known to be deceased, and gather information from this person that you can have no way of knowing except by this contact, and if this information can be verified to be true, accurate, and real, then you have gathered evidence that this person continues to exist beyond death. If you continue gathering such evidence, the weight of it will lead you to the truth.
You no longer need to take anyone else's word for the truth about our afterlife. The Afterlife Knowledge Guidebook gives you the tools to experience the afterlife and discover the truth for yourself.
Imagine how your life will change when you know beyond all doubt that you are an eternal being, a being who never dies.
