Rebecka Berg - Life Eternal And Its Work: Revealed From the Heavenly Side
Downloaded: 2 times | Size: 98 pages | Add to wishlist | Download for @50 credits
It is Life Eternal of the Qualified Man which concerns us most. Life Eternal of each man is so infinitely divine and beautiful that it cannot be fully explained through words. Yet, foreknowing the possibilities of explaining and revealing Life Eternal from the heavenly side out to the people in space, the Author having fixed devotion for the art of revelation straight from the I AM viewpoint of divine success, is looking forward toward perfect and complete success, even unto having completed all successes successfully. From here, therefore, the Author expects to bring home to Readers the revelation of Truth that each Life is divine and eternal now. live a conscious Life now, and enjoys Heaven now. It shall also be revealed that We are the Qualified Life of the Trinity Man; and that We have the same kind of life that the Life of Christ Jesus had when it was a Qualified Life of the Trinity Man. Also, that We are conscious in the same Consciousness in which the Life of Christ Jesus was conscious; and that We All enjoy the same Heaven that the Life of Christ Jesus enjoyed when it was a Qualified Life of the Trinity Man. Thus, the Life of Christ Jesus was not the only Son of Heaven, for We All As The Qualified Life Of Man Are Sons In Heaven!
Whose Bible Is It? A Short History of the Scriptures

Jaroslav Pelikan, widely regarded as one of the most distinguished historians of our day, now provides a clear and engaging account of the Bible’s journey from oral narrative to Hebrew and Greek text to today’s countless editions. Pelikan explores the evolution of the Jewish, Protestant, and Catholic versions and the development of the printing press and its effect on the Reformation, the translation into modern languages, and varying schools of critical scholarship. Whose Bible Is It? is a triumph of scholarship that is also a pleasure to read.
Believing in Magic: The Psychology of Superstition
Size: 329 pages | Add to wishlist | Download for @100 credits
Although we live in a technologically advanced society, superstition is as widespread as it has ever been. Far from limited to athletes and actors, superstitious beliefs are common among people of all occupations and every educational and income level. Here, Stuart Vyse investigates our proclivity towards these irrational beliefs. Superstitions, he writes, are the natural result of several well-understood psychological processes, including our human sensitivity to coincidence, a penchant for developing rituals to fill time (to battle nerves, impatience, or both), our efforts to cope with uncertainty, the need for control, and more. Vyse examines current behavioral research to demonstrate how complex and paradoxical human behavior can be understood through scientific investigation, while he addresses the personality features associated with superstition and the roles of superstitious beliefs in actions. Although superstition is a normal part of human culture, Vyse argues that we must provide alternative methods of coping with life's uncertainties by teaching decision analysis, promoting science education, and challenging ourselves to critically evaluate the sources of our beliefs.

Dawkins, Richard - The God Delusion
Downloaded: 3 times | Size: 398 pages | Add to wishlist | Download for @50 credits
Richard Dawkins, in The God Delusion, tells of his exasperation with colleagues who try to play both sides of the street: looking to science for justification of their religious convictions while evading the most difficult implications?the existence of a prime mover sophisticated enough to create and run the universe, "to say nothing of mind reading millions of humans simultaneously." Such an entity, he argues, would have to be extremely complex, raising the question of how it came into existence, how it communicates ?through spiritons!?and where it resides. Dawkins is frequently dismissed as a bully, but he is only putting theological doctrines to the same kind of scrutiny that any scientific theory must withstand. No one who has witnessed the merciless dissection of a new paper in physics would describe the atmosphere as overly polite
Dennet, Daniel - Breaking the Spell - Religion as a Natural Phenomenon
Downloaded: 2 times | Size: 456 pages | Add to wishlist | Download for @50 credits
In his characteristically provocative fashion, Dennett, author of Darwin's Dangerous Idea and director of the Center for Cognitive Studies at Tufts University, calls for a scientific, rational examination of religion that will lead us to understand what purpose religion serves in our culture. Much like E.O. Wilson (In Search of Nature), Robert Wright (The Moral Animal), and Richard Dawkins (The Selfish Gene), Dennett explores religion as a cultural phenomenon governed by the processes of evolution and natural selection. Religion survives because it has some kind of beneficial role in human life, yet Dennett argues that it has also played a maleficent role. He elegantly pleads for religions to engage in empirical self-examination to protect future generations from the ignorance so often fostered by religion hiding behind doctrinal smoke screens. Because Dennett offers a tentative proposal for exploring religion as a natural phenomenon, his book is sometimes plagued by generalizations that leave us wanting more ("Only when we can frame a comprehensive view of the many aspects of religion can we formulate defensible policies for how to respond to religions in the future"). Although much of the ground he covers has already been well trod, he clearly throws down a gauntlet to religion

Harris, Sam - The End of Faith
Size: 340 pages | Add to wishlist | Download for @50 credits
In this sometimes simplistic and misguided book, Harris calls for the end of religious faith in the modern world. Not only does such faith lack a rational base, he argues, but even the urge for religious toleration allows a too-easy acceptance of the motives of religious fundamentalists. Religious faith, according to Harris, requires its adherents to cling irrationally to mythic stories of ideal paradisiacal worlds (heaven and hell) that provide alternatives to their own everyday worlds. Moreover, innumerable acts of violence, he argues, can be attributed to a religious faith that clings uncritically to one set of dogmas or another. Very simply, religion is a form of terrorism for Harris. Predictably, he argues that a rational and scientific view?one that relies on the power of empirical evidence to support knowledge and understanding?should replace religious faith. We no longer need gods to make laws for us when we can sensibly make them for ourselves. But Harris overstates his case by misunderstanding religious faith, as when he makes the audaciously na?ve statement that "mysticism is a rational enterprise; religion is not." As William James ably demonstrated, mysticism is far from a rational enterprise, while religion might often require rationality in order to function properly. On balance, Harris's book generalizes so much about both religion and reason that it is ineffectual

Warning! This book contains dangerous ideas! Please use all proper caution and safety equipment while reading. We cannot be held responsible for damage to your mind, or the contents thereof. This book is about the past, present and future evolution of human ideas. Its primary emphasis is on parasitic collectivist ideologies. It examines where they come from, how they harm us and how we can remove them from our own minds and from the culture around us. Finally, it tells us the amazing things that will become possible for humanity when they are gone. Not only religions, but also nation states, racial groups, corporations and other collectives are targeted for clear minded observation and criticism
Hitchens, Christopher - God is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything
Downloaded: 3 times | Size: 181 pages | Add to wishlist | Download for @5 credits
Hitchens, one of our great political pugilists, delivers the best of the recent rash of atheist manifestos. The same contrarian spirit that makes him delightful reading as a political commentator, even (or especially) when he's completely wrong, makes him an entertaining huckster prosecutor once he has God placed in the dock. And can he turn a phrase!: "monotheistic religion is a plagiarism of a plagiarism of a hearsay of a hearsay, of an illusion of an illusion, extending all the way back to a fabrication of a few nonevents." Hitchens's one-liners bear the marks of considerable sparring practice with believers. Yet few believers will recognize themselves as Hitchens associates all of them for all time with the worst of history's theocratic and inquisitional moments. All the same, this is salutary reading as a means of culling believers' weaker arguments: that faith offers comfort (false comfort is none at all), or has provided a historical hedge against fascism (it mostly hasn't), or that "Eastern" religions are better (nope). The book's real strength is Hitchens's on-the-ground glimpses of religion's worst face in various war zones and isolated despotic regimes. But its weakness is its almost fanatical insistence that religion poisons "everything," which tips over into barely disguised misanthropy

Martin, Michael - The Cambridge Companion to Atheism
Size: 352 pages | Add to wishlist | Download for @50 credits
In this volume, eighteen of the world's leading scholars present original essays on various aspects of atheism: its history, both ancient and modern, defense and implications. The topic is examined in terms of its implications for a wide range of disciplines including philosophy, religion, feminism, postmodernism, sociology and psychology. In its defense, both classical and contemporary theistic arguments are criticized, and, the argument from evil, and impossibility arguments, along with a non religious basis for morality are defended. These essays give a broad understanding of atheism and a lucid introduction to this controversial topic

Mills, David - Atheist Universe: The Thinking Person's Answer to Christian Fundamentalism
Size: 271 pages | Add to wishlist | Download for @5 credits
Clear, concise, and persuasive, Atheist Universe details exactly why God is unnecessary to explain the universe and life's diversity, organization, and beauty. The author thoroughly rebuts every argument that claims to "prove" God's existence ? arguments based on logic, common sense, philosophy, ethics, history and science. Atheist Universe avoids the esoteric language used by philosophers and presents its scientific evidence in simple lay terms, making it a richly entertaining and easy-to-read introduction to atheism. A comprehensive primer, it addresses all the historical and scientific questions, including: Is there proof that God does not exist? What evidence is there of Jesus' resurrection? Can creation science reconcile scripture with the latest scientific discoveries? Atheist Universe also answers ethical issues such as: What is the meaning of life without God? It's a spellbinding inquiry that ultimately arrives at a controversial and well-documented conclusion
Onfray, Michel - In Defense of Atheism: The Case Against Christianity, Judaism, and Islam
Downloaded: 1 times | Size: 228 pages | Add to wishlist | Download for @5 credits
In the 21st century, religion is making a comeback, bringing in its wake a resurgence of fundamentalism. In Defense of Atheism demonstrates that organized religion is motivated by worldly, historical, and political power and exposes some uncomfortable truths. If Nietzsche proclaimed the death of God, Onfray states that not only is God still very much alive but increasingly controlled by fundamentalists who pose a danger to the human race. Persuasively argued, this book is a radical call for sanity in an age of religious unreason. About the Author Michel Onfray was born in 1959 and teaches at the Popular University of Caen, in France. He is the prolific author of over 30 books

Stenger, Victor - God - The Failed Hypothesis
Size: 287 pages | Add to wishlist | Download for @50 credits
Throughout history, arguments for and against the existence of God have been largely confined to philosophy and theology. In the meantime, science has sat on the sidelines and quietly watched this game of words march up and down the field. Despite the fact that science has revolutionized every aspect of human life and greatly clarified our understanding of the world, somehow the notion has arisen that it has nothing to say about the possibility of a supreme being, which much of humanity worships as the source of all reality. After evaluating all the scientific evidence, Stenger concludes that beyond a reasonable doubt the universe and life appear exactly as we might expect if there were no God
